Okay, so I'm pretty sure my computer has has some type of virus for a few months. I've been running scans every so often and finding lots of stuff. Today I updated to Norton 2012 and got an error message. Norton directed me to its website to download Norton Eraser. So I did and it found a bad file. It wanted to restart to remove the file and I hit ok. It trys to restart and cannot. I keep getting a screen saying unable to start. It gets stuck and I tried to restore too, but nothing happens. I tried to start in safe mode, and that doesn't work either. Right now I am running a Start-Up Test by HP that comes with my computer that I found in the start up menu. Any suggestions on what to do if this doesn't work!!?
What was the name of the file that NPE wanted to restart to remove and is your Windows 32 bit (x86) or 64 bit (x64)??
