Help, Norton antivirus 2012 repeatedly detecting both trojan.gen.2 and trojan.zeroaccess.b

Yesterday Norton started repeatedly detecting both  trojan.gen.2 and trojan.zeroaccess.b . I ran Norton's zeroaccess removal tool and the power eraser as instructed on the Symantec site. Neither helped.

Dell XPS M1710

System: Windows 7 32 bit

Thanks for any help,

Larry

Hello Quads,

One question before I start.........

This is a tri boot computer the others are windows XP Pro 32 Bit  and windows Vista 32 Bit...........!

I have not booted to either of the other two......!

Do I have to do anything else or special because of the tri boot...?

Thank You for helping me..

Larry

Does it still use the Windows 7 or Window Vista Advanced boot system,

If so it should work unless FRST detects and uses the wrong registry hive set.

Yes it does....!

Thank You,

Quads,

File attached as requested.

Thank You,

Be aware,  You  could have malware on the other Hard Drives and Windows installations so until all drives are scanned and seen as clean only boot to Windows 7, to make sure nothing boots from another drive when loading Vista or XP

Step 2

Download the script attached, needs to be the same file name as well (fixlist.txt), Copy across to flash drive

NOTE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

Now please enter System Recovery Options again. Like previously

  • Select Command Prompt
  • In the command window type in notepad and press Enter.
  • The notepad opens. Under File menu select Open.
  • Select "Computer" and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
  • In the command window type e:\frst.exe or frst64.exe and press Enter
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
  • The tool will start to run.
  • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.

Per your request:

Thanks,

Larry

For your review.....!

I think you have fixed my computer.........what/where/howdid I get these and what's wrong with Norton....Should I get A different  antivirus program.....?

I don't go to porn or other strange sites.......!

Thank You Quads........can I buy you A beer or something....?

Larry

I will have to create a script for each OS, so you run the script when have FRST loading Vista registry hives, then one when loading XP's registry Hives

I think I understand....as......Farbar......Lets me pick which OS I go to.....!

 I run A separate fixlist.txt for  each OS.....just like I did for the win 7 OS.....Correct..?

Thanks,

Larry

Yes,   so when I send the fixlist for Vista I will say and you go into vista,    once done   I will do fixlist for XP and you will then use XP as the OS with FRST.

As well as I am trying to keep up with every one else on the forum.

XP shows drivers screwed or missing somehowm but I will deal with that a long way down the track OK??

I can wait for awhile  as I only use the other OS's once in awhile.
