help please!!!; cve-2008-4250 popups all the time (no worms/threats on my computer though)

hi. i have windows xp professional service pack 3 on my laptop. i have AT&T wireless internet. i continually get popups from norton antivirus (the newest one) concerning "an intrusion attempt by such & such ip address was blocked". i have researched the code of the os attack & it was cve-2008-4250. after further researching that code, i found that it was the w32 conficker worm. however, after using bit defender (full system scan), norton antivirus (full system scan), norton erase tool, & the w32 worm removal tool, none of those came up with anything. there were no threats on my computer, including no worms. now, the popups come up every so minutes now. i'm ready to pull my hair out. what else can i do if there is no worm? if i reinstall windows, will i receive these popups from my internet all over again? i prefer not reinstalling windows unless it has to be done. any help would be absolutely wonderful. thank you!
