Help please!

Hi, the past few days my computer has been going very slow and i cant open certain basic programs such as task manager.

I have located the program that is using all my cpu i know where the file is and i quarantined it but its still eating up my cpu and making things slow (I know exactly where the virus is located) But i cant end it because it says its in use by daemon tools.

the virus is called bkcpy1.exe

NOTE - i checked cpu usage and proccesses through norton insight because i cant open my task manager.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.  Tom Sturgeon

Hi kabulos,

Please contact Symantec Customer Service at the link below; you can chat with them for free at this link (for US and Canada) and ask them for a refund:
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

However, there is another option: since you purchased NIS as a download, you must have received a confirmation e-mail containing the product key for NIS. If the new NIS has the same number of licences as your current one and if you wait until about 2 days before your current subscription expires, then you can type in the new product key and renew the NIS installed on your machine in that manner. Do not, however, let your subscription expire altogether, and also do not type in your new product key now, because remaining days from your old subscription will not be added to the new one. I think buying the product itself is actually less expensive than renewing your subscription. To see how to renew your subscription using a new key from a new NIS, you can look at Wikipedian's post over here:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/NIS-2009-Activation-onto-existing-NIS-2009/m-p/177874/highlight/true#M89197

Thank you!

Hi this is my first time coming on here to ask for help. I've been using norton 360 for about 8 months now without to many problems. But today when i turned on my computer my norton was asking to fix a backup problem and when i clicked fix it didnt work. Now its stuck on blue saying "FIXING". I turned off the computer then turned it back on again but its still the same. When i click on help and support it asks the computer to make changes to the computer and when i run it directs me to a norton upgrade page? any idea whats wrong or how to fix? do i need to upgrade? i still have a long time left on my account.

Hello macgiver35

What version of N360 are you using now? If it's too old of a version, you should come back here for instructions on how to do it safely. The current version is 4.3.0.5 Thanks.
