Help! Windows Update Error 0x80244019

I got the FBI Bug, system froze and I reinstalled windows 1 month ago and my system is really suffering.  Explorer freezes all the time, Windows update will not run, I get error 0x80244019. I have run Norton 360, Norton Power Eraser, don't know what else I can do. A friend told me there is a registry problem..how can I fix that without spending money.  If you need more info please ask away..Thanks, Ben

Thank you so much for the help. After 100 Updates and then getting .NET Framework Pack 1.1 failure fixed manually...All is right in the world. It's a miracle dude!!!!
