I decided to try Windows 7... First I went on line and bought Ghost 14. Made the back up.. Tried to install Windows 7---- NO PROGRAMS.... After a few days of trying I decided to go back to the VISTA, at least it worked.
After I got VISTA installed I went to Ghost to restore. AND I got the Error E0BB0004. I have 5 backups all the same size and none of them work.

Once we get your Vista back up, would you like to try Windows 7 again?
Question: Which exact version of Vista were you trying to upgrade from? And which exact version of Windows 7 were you trying to upgrade to? Also include 32 vs 64 bit.
Did you attempt to restore your system drive (OS) from the Symantec Recovery environment? E.g., did you boot through the startup CD? Or did you attempt to restore from within Windows? Recoveries should always be done from the Recovery environment outside Windows, particularly for the system drive. Note that you do not need to reinstall Windows to recover your system drive, provided that you performed an image backup and not a file and folder backup.
Some where along the line if asked if I wanted to forma the drive and at that point everything was so messed up I said yes. It had reversed the drives some how so when it tried to load, it did it on the partiction so there was not room to load...

Hi Chefgene,
Thank you for the information. However I am still not clear on several points.
I believe you wanted to work on the Ghost error first. Is this corret? Please clarify the following points.
1) You said somewhere along the line it asked you if you wanted to format. I believe you are talking about during the attempted upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, correct?
2) What type (e.g., IDE, SATA, etc) and size is your backup drive?
3) What type (e.g., IDE, SATA, etc) and size is your system (C) drive?
4) Any other hard drives in your system? If so type and size of those as well.
5) For your system drive, is it a single partition or multiple partitions? If multiple partitions was is the size of each? If you are not sure then please run the file called PartInfo.exe which by default (if you did not change it during installation of Ghost) is located in C:\Program Files\Norton Ghost\Utility. This will create a file called partinfo.txt in the same directory. Please attach that to your post by hitting the Add Attachments link at the bottom.
6) What type of backup did you perform with Ghost before? Was it a Backup My Computer or Backup selected Files and Folders? Please tell me the filename of the backup image you have been trying to use.
7) When you upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 before you said it was 32 bit. But more specifically was it Vista Home, Home Premium, etc? I need specifics for both Vista and Windows 7.
