Need some help. Having trouble setting up file sharing and am wondering if Norton is partially to blame.
I have an XP desktop and a Vista laptop. Really would like to access the XP files from the laptop via my homenetwork. The Vista has Norton 09. So far I've managed to get the Vista shared files to show up on the XP under "my network locations" However, nothing shows up on the Vista.
Things I've done so far:
-changed the workgroup names
-added the LLTD to the XP
-selected files on both the Vista and XP for file sharing
Need to know:
-Is this a Norton issue. If so, what are the correct settings to allow the XP to show up on the Vista?
-Do I really need to mess with the regedit for the NTLMV version? Some say Vista uses v2 while XP uses v1. I've checked the Dword values and the Vista showed 3, and the XP showed 0. I'm hesitant to change reg. values, but will take any solid advice.
