I am in the middle of trying to install Norton 360 on my PC. Midway through the process I get a screen with the following message:
WE HAVE DETECTED THE PROXY SETTINGS BELOW ON YOUR COMPUTER.
The following show what I am looking at on my screen.
1) The window seems to be asking for address and port.
2) Above the boxes to enter address and port, the line "Note: If you did not specify these settings, they may have been set by malware and you should change or clear them." Below all this is a button that says "Do not use any proxy settings"
3) In the URL box, originally it said "http://proxy.kodak.com:81/proxy.pac", which didn't seem to make sense (I do have a Kodak picture program that allows internet access on this PC). Either way, with or without anything in that box, nothing seems to work. Clicking the "Do not use any proxy settings" button does not produce any results either.
4) In the lower right is the NEXT button to continue. The mouse is hovering over the area, but has not turned into the 'hand' that means you can click through to the next screen.
5) The box that comes up if I try to 'X' (close) this window says more or less "Are you sure you want to exit setup?"
I can't attach pictures (or I would).
I can go no further in the process right now. What am I supposed to do next?
Thank you so much for your attempt to help me. Forgive the delay in responding, it was due to two reasons. First I get quite busy occasionally and had set this aside for a moment. Second, emails from Norton were accidentally being sent to 'Spam'. Good thing I was doing my monthly review of that folder!
To move on to the problem at hand, I have now attached a screenshot of what I see as I am attempting to install N360. As noted in the original post, if I hover my mouse pointer over the arrow --> inside the circle, it doesn't change to the 'hand'. This is where the installation is continuing to get stuck.
Attached is the screenshot, and once again your help is deeply appreciated.
