I recently purchased a 1 year, 3-PC Norton subscription license to renew an expiring NIS license on my PC a month or so ago.
My Norton IS 2009 on my laptop expired a few days ago and earlier today I tried to renew it and it accepted the code fine.....but it said that there were ZERO days of subscription remaining upon activation.
Am I doing something wrong here or is there another way to go about updating an expired license (ie erasing a registry entry or file on laptop)?
I have a PC and a laptop both with Norton IS 2009 (each with different key codes at that time). When my subscription for my Norton 2009 on the PC was close to expiring....I purchased a 3-PC licence (same license number, same product key).
I renewed by PC and upgraded to Norton IS 2010 abount 6 weeks ago. When I tried to do the same with my laptop (Norton 2009 and using the same licence used on PC)....it activated fine (according to the server connection and message) but showed 0 days remaining.
I'm trying to figure out WHY the laptop is not showing the remaining days of that subscription and accepting the renewal.
Since you had different product keys before it could be that Norton for some reason tried to activate using the old expired key when you updated to the new version. Check so that the serial number on the laptop is the same as on the PC (you will find it under Help & Support > About up in the right corner). If the serial number is different you will have to reactivate the laptop by manually typing in the productkey. Click on Renew Now down on the right and type in the correct product key.
If you still have problems getting the days onto the laptop I would suggest doing as yogesh_mohan said and contact support. They should be able to check your account and sort this out.

How did you go about inserting the activation key?
Easiest way is:
a. Open the console screen.
b. Click on Express Renewal in the lower right
c. Enter your Activation Code in the space on the right and then click on the arrow next to it.
This should correlate your product to the right key. You should now be able to check and force the product to pick up the correct days by
