I don't know the name of malware or where it came from but damage done is as follows :
1. disabled aero theme in vista and no matter how hard i tried it doesn't appear again.
2. Disable startup programs - all programs in startup do not run at start up except norton.
3. Registy had 4 keys in classes_user in some chinese looking ascii codes, i deleted them.
i tried
system restore --- no effect
sys scan (full and quick) --- no effect
tweaking through msconfig --- no effect
regedit --- deleting chinese keys --- no effect.
now after wasting 5 hours i still have no clue of how to restore my sytem settings to enable startup and aero theme.
It seems malware stops any startup activity just before aero theme launches, as norton launches even before that so it still comes at startup, but other software doesn't, need urgent solution pls.
