After attempting to install Go Back, using Norton SystemWorks 2007 I received the message at Go Back could not be installed because the program didn’t know which drive was my boot drive. I was only using one, unpartioned drive, with Windows XP SP3. Even though drive C: clearly appears as my hard drive, the drive is evidently hidden to Norton Go Back. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution. I am just about ready to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP in the hopes of establishing a hard drive that Norton can read.
As I recall, goback will create a hidden partition and not assign a drive letter to it. You cannot access it from the OS. This is a cumbersome (at best) process, and I was never satisfied with it. I switched to ghost so that I had control of the process. You should be able to remove the goback partition from the norton install disk. If you reinstall, you have the option to not install goback, from the custom install menu, if I remember.
