Running XP SP3 with 2GB ram. I have just updated NIS and used the removal tool for a clean installation.I hoped to resolve a problem.
Applications have been freezing for 10sec or so at 5 minute intervals, the freeze occurs when NIS performance shows two components of ccSvcHst. peaking to 90% or more. There are two instances of ccSvcHst.exe in processes, under the earlier vsn of NIS I seem to recall seeing up to four.
The only reference to 5min I can see in NIS documentation is for pulse updates, turning them off makes no difference.
Disconnecting from the Net reduces the amount of CPU taken and no sign of freezing is noticable.
I have seen suggestions that this version of NIS would eliminate the issue and that a clean install was recommended
Any suggestions?
