Hi tridentcore,

We cannot see your image yet until the moderator approves it but in the meantime.....

What version of NAV (Norton Antivirus) do you have? You can find this from Support > About. Also regarding your Windows 7, is it 32 or 64 bit and do you have SP (service pack) 1?

What is your history of NAV? How long has NAV been installed and have you had this problem from the beginning? You mentioned the last few months you have been having this problem but when was NAV installed to begin with and were things OK before that? Also, did you have any other security software installed when you first installed NAV?

Do you currently have any other security software installed besides NAV? This includes if you have Windows Defender enabled as this will also cause conflict with NAV.

After reinstalling NAV did you run Live Update repeatedly (rebooting as requested) until it reported no more updates? Further, after installation and live update did you run a manual FULL system scan? I always recommend this after installation as Norton is quite aggressive at getting that first scan completed after which it reverts to the normal weekly IDLE full scan.

We can provide further guidance once you have responded to the addtional questions and when we can view your image.

Best wishes.

Allen

Thanks for helping me... here's the information as you requested...

I'm using the latest update and version of Norton AntiVirus 2011 - 18.6.0.29, all updates are installed right after I re-install last week no further update needed after that.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and all updates installed.

Security software beside Norton AntiVirus 2011 only Comodo Firewall Pro.

For additional information, I've been using NAV2011 since September when I bought my new notebook. 3 years back with my old notebook.

For a full scan, I never done it since using this 2011 version...

This problem occured about 2 months ago...

Hi tridentcore,

I am still waiting for your image to be visible.

Regarding Windows 7, you stated all updates are installed. Can you confirm you have SP 1?

Regarding full scan, you said you have never done it since using this 2011 version. Can you clarify what you mean? NAV by default will run weekly IDLE full scans so you should have had several performed since September. Did you turn OFF the IDLE weekly scans?

Also you indicated using NAV 2011 since September since you bought your new notebook. Did NAV come preinstalled on this notebook? Or did you install it yourself?

If you installed it yourself, then you most likely had some trial version of another security product which came preinstalled from the vendor. Almost all new computers come with trial security software.

Had you removed any other security software before installing NAV?

If NAV is not what came preinstalled on your notebook when you got it then I would suggest you check around in your start menu and look for signs of other security software such as McAfee, Kapersky, etc. If any other security software was on your notebook when you installed NAV it could have prevented a good installation and could still be causing problems now.

Also does Comodo Firewall include Defense+? And are you sure it is the firewall only and not their internet security?

Best wishes.

Allen

I turned off idle FULL SCAN including weekly schedule because I know what I do in my notebook, consider to not think me as a newbie user :)

everything useless and bundled software in my notebook already removed so only NAV2011 and Comodo Firewall Pro in my notebook...

my Windows 7 updated SP1 and latest update until now...

here's the direct link my screenshot of Disk Pulse as your requested..

I just want to know... which feature is caused for that folder always being modified several times...? and a solution for stop it...

Hi tridentcore,

Thanks for the information. I am not trying to think of you as a new user but questions do have to be asked so that we have a more complete picture. :smileywink:

The image you attached does not indicate a problem and it is unlikely that this is part of your problem.

First thing is that if you have never allowed a FULL system scan to complete, I would highly recommend that you do so as again NAV is quite aggressive at getting that first scan completed. If you really want to turn it off after that, feel free to do so though we recommend to let the program run the way it was designed in this regard. But at least launch a manual full scan and let that one complete.

At this point it is not clear that NAV is the cause of the issue you are having but the lack of a full scan being run could certainly be one possibility.

If you have your own defrag utility I would also recommend that you turn OFF the Idle Time Optimizer in Misc. Settings.

You mentioned already turning off Performance Monitoring which is fine if you don't want those alerts.

Other than that I would let a full scan complete and then see how things goes.

What are your system specifications in terms of type of CPU, number of cores, amount of RAM, etc?

Best wishes.

Allen

My notebook spec: Intel Core i7 (4 cores), 2x 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD with GeForce GT240M.

Well, FULL SCAN maybe a consideration for me in this problem...

Just info, I never do a FULL SCAN since using  NAV2010 and until now, hahaha...

I will report if there anything difference after perform a FULL SCAN...

thanks anyway...
