High Memory Usage Message

Hi, what can I do about the Hight Memory Usage message that Norton Internet Security shows, when I have just Internet Explorer 9.0 lauched in Windows 7?  Is there some settings that I can reference to see what might to change / improve, to make IE run faster and more efficiently?  Thank you.

Welcome stcanu

You can have a look at the add ons you have installed. Go to Tools - Manage Add Ons, and see if there are any you do not need and disable them.

Hi stcanu,

Are you noticing any issues with IE when you get the Norton Perfomance alerts?  If not, you can ignore them (or raise the resource threshold, or exclude IE from Performance Monitoring altogether).  IE runs each tab as a separate process, each requiring some RAM.  If you have other programs open, or your machine is doing other tasks simultaneously, you may get these performance alerts.  If your machine has an adequate amount of RAM installed, such that performance isn't actually being impacted, you can disregard the alerts.  They are merely informational, and usually signify a normal, brief increase in demand for resources rather than a problem with a program or your system.

Actually, the more RAM it uses, the faster and more efficiently it runs. :smileyhappy: Fetching things from RAM is much faster than reading from a HDD/SDD.

to make IE run faster and more efficiently - install google chrome and use it :smileyhappy:
