Hi hope someone can help I have been trying to get rid of a start page in IE 9 and firefox and chrome, the page is globasearch. I have tried all the solutions I found on searching for it but nothing works. I have run Norton, Malwarebytes, Hitman and a few other nothing finds it. Some suggestions is to delete certain files but when I run a search nothing comes up. Other suggestions is to delete certain registry keys but they are not there I am running windows 7 32 bit with SP1 . Any help would be appreciated.
Hello johncv.Very sad to here that if you have infected with"globalsearch" hijacker,If those are not worked,So try to remove it manually, that’s not hard work.just try it.There are few steps to complete.please follow this link… http://blog.teesupport.com/globasearch-com-google-redirection-virus-how-to-remove-globasearch-com-browser-hijacker/ But still you have same problem download this small-tool and just run it.then select toolbars tab on interface. You can see list of toolbars you have installed please try to remove unknown toolbars. http://www.iobit.com/advanceduninstaller.html If i could help you i am glad to here that thank you.
Thanks everyone I have tried different malware programs and tried to find the files that is suppose to be associated with globasearch manually but nothing comes up, I do have show hidden files unchecked and system files unchecked. I am using Norton Internet security 2012. I have checked the registry for keys that are suggested online but I find nothing. The only other thing to do is format my drive? I can change my start pages but when I reboot it comes back, I also have run a few rootkit killer programs

johncv,
Another guru has suggested you go to one of the free sites that offer expert assistance for the removal of malware. From the description of the steps you have taken I question if the format and restore of the system will finally remove the problem. There are known 'nasties' that can survive a format.
