Hi everyone,

I have NIS 2009 + Aop 3.0 Italian on a Vista Home Premium Notebook (without SP1)

The "history" of NIS doesn't show all messages about intrusion protection, connection adn firewall activity.

But NIS function seems function well: block viruses, run liveUpdate ok and the One-Click Suppport doesn't find anything.

How to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

PS: Excuse my bad English. I'm Italian.

What information are you looking for?

History show only some messages. For example, if I connect to internet Monday and Tuesday, the history doesn’t record anything on monday: no message like “intrusion prevenction activated” etc.

Could you post a screenshot of the history, and what you feel is missing from the history? Thanks!

The marked messages must be present at any start of Windows. 27/09 I started Windows but no message was recorded on History.

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you checked your machine’s clock to make sure that it is correct?

The machine's clock is OK. The history doesn't record randomly some events.

Reinstall NIS2009 may resolve the problem?

Ok, another obvious question, do you perform a full boot on the 27th or could you have resumed from hibernation or sleep mode instead?

As far as reinstalling is concerned, I don't see why it would help but, you never know what might change.

I don't use ibernation. Only full boot. The problem persist every 2-3 day.

I haven’t heard of this from anybody else and have run out of ideas. If other people are experiencing this, I hope that they report it as well… the more people, the more trends to analyze.

Axios, I asked around the office and found out that you have discovered a known issue. The IDS startup events don’t always get logged when starting up a system. The issue is cosmetic and does not affect the functioning of the the product; you are secure. There currently aren’t any plans to address this in the near future.

OK. Thanks for the reply.

What does Intrusion Prevention show?

If you click on Full History and Firewall Activities, what does it show?
