Home Network, Win 7 and Norton 360 V 5

Cannot seem to file and print share. The network map show's both PC's and the printer. Trust control is set to full on all three but I cannot see files on the other PC nor can I print on the shared network printer whihc does not come up as an option when I try to print. I am running Office 2010.

I am hard wired into a wireless Netgear N-150 router.

Hi,

Are the printers installed on the other machines? The other question would be permissions - it might take 'admin' level access to play in the other machine.

Hi

What Operating system's you have on all the 3machines? (Win7 home premium/basic/pro/ultimate/enterprise)

Are you able to ping other machines from one another?

I have WIN 7 Home Premium and I am logged on as an administrator. This is most frustrating. I ended up creating POP 3 email addcounts just to get past the dreadfully slow email (moving between folders within Outlook 2010).

So far, WIN 7 has caused me no end of grief.  I sincerely appreciate your help with this.

And yes the printer is USB connected to the other PC.

What version of windows do the other 2 computers have and what are they using for firewalls?

Edit- Also, did everything work before you installed Norton onto the windows 7 system, or is this a new computer your adding to your network?

Dave

Both are new (this Christmas) WIN 7 PC's with all OS updates and the printer works fine of the PC it is attached to.

Sorry. Had XP machines before and the network was fine although it did "disappear" off and on and I never did figure out why.

Hi

You didn't answered one of my Q's: Did you tried to Ping the Computers from one another?

Yes, I successfully ping'd the other PC

Hi,

On the computer that has the printer attached via the USB, is it also shared on that computer?

Yes, everything is full trust control on both PC's.

One PC was NOT part of the work group. Problem solved and thanks for everyone's help.
