I also had an "intrusion attempt" warning twice this morning at the same time that I received "Possible MalWare 'Exploit/Link-592a'" warning messages when on hotmail. (see image below)
I got the first hotmail warning message and Norton's intrusion attempt warning after attempting to delete a hotmail message. I then updated my Norton Security Suite and did a quick scan on my pc. (The scan only found cookies.) I then went back to hotmail (automatic sign in) and after simply clicking on another message, I got the hotmail warning message and Norton's "intrusion attempt" warning again. I then, scanned my pc again and it only found 3 cookies. I have not had the warnings since then. I'm hoping I don't get them again.
This is the Hotmail's warning message (typos and all...):
"The Hotmail Email Security System discovered a possible virus or unauthorised code (such as a Trojan) in an email sent to you. The email has now been quarantined and was not delivered Possible MalWare 'Exploit/Link-592a'
It is STRONGLY recommended to download and install security software to disinefect and clean your computer. In case of repated violations your access to Hotmail account may be terminated."
The message box also has a "download" button and the address in the browser is requestupdate7.com/.
The details of Norton's "intrusion attempt" warning show under Activity, "An intrusion attempt by nonsper.com was blocked". (see image below)
I also posted a message in Hotmail's Solutions forums.
Here are the screen snapshots of the hotmail warning message and of Norton's warning.
