Yesterday my son used the computer from 4:10pm until 9:30pm (approximately 5.5 hours). This morning I logged into the NOF account, clicked on the Time tab and it shows 3.5 hours for yesterday and 5 hours for today. He has not been on the computer at all today. The attached screen shot shows the display.
NOF should not be allocating time from yesterday to today and the total amount of time is incorrect. This has been a problem I have observed with NOF since I started using it several weeks ago. It's especially apparent this week because my son has not used the computer at all until yesterday.
The computer my son uses is Windows 7 Home Premium and the computer time is set correctly. He does not have admin rights. Norton Safety Minder Version is 2.1.0.52. Under the All Activity tab there is only activity listed for yesterday from 4:10pm until 9:31pm.
Is this a known problem? Can you explain why this is happening?
When my son was done at 9:30pm the computer was shut off. I checked the event log and no one used the computer until the next morning when I turned it on to verify that the system time and date were correct.
Also, all of the accounts on that computer have passwords.

We are trying to narrow down the reason that you are experiencing the issue here. So you are sure after the kids finish using the PC each day, they shut down the PC?
I've been having a similar problem...here's part of the report I received this week for one of my kids...I'm wondering what kind of time warp his computer is in...???
I've also been wondering what sort of time warp is happening! The weekly report usually shows at least one day with more than 24 hours. I haven't found ANY mention of how time is calculated that can explain why this happens.
I'm a frustrated user who is spending too much effort on this!
Please check the link below for more details on the time related issue. They are not exact the same issue, but please try the steps to see if they help.
I am also showing this problem on both a vista and windows 7 pc. The log is showing acivity for tomorrow, and it is 8:23 pm local time. See attached screenshots.
Also, I set a 2 hour limit on one of the accounts and (I assume due to the incorrect logging) he was never notified that he had reached the max for the day. He logged 5.5 hours over today and tomorrow. All the computers are in the same house. If it was just one, I would think he changed the time on his machine to get around the restriction, but I know my six year old didn't do that.
My motivation for purchasing this product was to restrict the amount of time they can be on the computer. I really would like this to work. Suggestions?
What version of Norton Safety Minder do you have on the PC? You can find the version number by clicking the Norton Safety Minder icon in the system tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder.
Also, there has been no activity logged, but he's been on the comuter nearly continuously for two days. His videos aren't being logged either.
Norton Security Minder says it is enabled. If I select "view time remaining" the software says that he has exceeded his tme for the day, but doesn't lock the computer. I haven't received any notifications about any of this.
Literally none of the features are working right now.
Please make sure the child's Windows account is associated with the child’s online profile accordingly. You can check it by clicking the Norton Safety Minder icon in the system tray and selecting Edit Accounts. Also, make sure Norton Safety Minder is active (no red x on the icon in system tray) on the PC.
For the time issue, please try the steps from the link below to see if it helps.
my son has the unfortunate problem of being in the oposite situation. He is allowed 1hr of computer time a day but whenever he comes home and logs in, a few minutes (2-3) later he is told that he's exceeded the time limit for the day and will be logged out, despite the fact that he wasn't online before.
I'm using NOF 2.2.0.28 on Firefox 3.6.18 on WinXP. Timezone setting is correct. NOF should only count the hours when he is actively using the computer. We don't log out of nor shut down the computer, only lock the account (or change to another) when we're done. My son's account is the only one being monitored in the house.
Would be great if it could be resolved cause at the moment we are unable to use NOF as it is constantly blocking.
So I'm not the only one going nuts with the times issues. aaarrrgggg. Weekly report seems to be off by 3 hours, meaning I get the Weekly reports between 9-9:30 pm on Sat night and I'm in the west coast in San Jose, so PT and YES my time zone is correct.
The time which is showing up in the the reports and on line is off also, liske others have states, some days I show 2-3 ours when they have been on 7-8 hours. Other days longer. Here is a good one HAHAHA
