House rules are not applied. What can I do to make this work?

Hi, when I (as a parent) change house rules for my child's Android device, these changed house rules are not applied on my child's. It's only applied when I manually refresh house rules in the Norton Family app on my child's android device. It's the same for other changes I would like to apply, like locking the device, schooltime, etc. This way Norton Family is useless.

For making these changes, it doesn't matter if I use the online Norton Family web interface, or the Norton Family app on my Android phone. I've checked all required permissions on my child. All software is up to date. They are all ok. What can I do to change this?

Kind regards,

Hans.

Hello,

The Google Playstore seems fine from what you are saying.

For the house rules not auto-updating, could we request you to try reinstalling the app on your child's device? Just so the app re-registers for the updates fine in case something had failed during the last installation.

Thanks,

Hi Edwin, the Google Play store app of my doughter is set up properly, functioning well. As well as her entire Google account. Meaning also that all apps are updated automatically. Are there specific Google Play settings relevant, which I have to check?

Hello,

I was actually referring to the google play store app and not the NF app, could you check if google play store account is setup properly?

Thanks,

Hi Edwin, I assume  you don't mean logged-in as a parent but as a child.

I guess the app is logged-in, since house rule changes are still applied manually. I just tested this. In my kid's Android device, when I hit the menu I also see my kid's account name in the upper left corner of Norton Family app.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to the Norton Family forum.

We are reviewing this issue from our end. We will provide an update as soon as possible. In the meantime could you check if the playstore app on the device facing the issue is in logged-in state?

Thanks,

Norton Family Team
