Some klutz released a php script on the 'net that is supposed to detect one's browser correctly. If one's browser does not meet the days' new browser, they are told to upgrade. Well. That script is dead wrong. Too many sites, including Norton have added that %$#$ script to their sites and without knowing it, are sending a lot of customers away - those that DO have IE8!
What's going on. Is Micro$oft giving corporations a kick-back of sorts for forcing people to upgrade when they already have, which seems like a weekly necessity.
OK, one browser for that site, another for the other site and another for my Account @ Norton which Norton's kiddie-script can't see properly. It's getting browser stupid. It's no longer a choice, it's necessary now to appease software released by a kiddie-coder with wild claims about his/her software ability to detect a browser. At least it detected that it is IE, beyond that the script belongs in Byte Heaven
If anyone has access to the Norton web site coders, please, tell them to dump the script it does not work perfectly. I have IE8 and Norton says I must install IE8 (Duh!), or install another browser, or upgrade to 9 - What? M$ hasn't even got IE3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 right and they want the public to beta test 9!!? Not on my time.
