How can I add SMTP Port 587 to Protected Ports in Norton 360 V.6,which doesn't permit me to add?

Norton 360 V.6 doesn’t permit me to add SMTP Port 587 to Protected Ports. My ISP switched to this port in Outlook Express, which I am using. There is no way to go back to SMTP port 25. How can I add subject port to Protected Ports?

Hi ErhanKarabekir,

Port 587 is an SSL-encrypted port that cannot be monitored.  That is why you are unable to add it to the Protected Ports list.  Norton only supports non-encrypted POP3 and SMTP ports.

Hi ErhanKarabekir:

Just a footnote to SendOfJive's post.

Here's an article that explains Port 587 for your interest -
