How can I deregister from the Norton community

Can someone please tell me how to deregister from this norton community.

Forums are routinely crawled and usernames do end up in search engines.  When you post anything to the internet, that is what happens.  Most forums will not remove an individual's posts, because doing so would leave the affected topics with orphaned replies and gaps in the discussion.  Furthermore, even if Norton removed your forum account and all traces of your participation, it would still not accomplish what you are trying to do. Your username would still appear in search results and your content would still be accessible in the search engines' cached pages and in internet archives.  Gaining control over what you have already made public on the internet is nothing short of impossible.

No problem. Just wondering what was causing an issue for you.

I'm not sure what information could be obtained from that link. Or if it might still show up in google searches because of caching. Besides, who is going to add 2002 to your name unless they already know it is your username somewhere?

I'll see if I can get a moderator to give an answer to this thread.

if you type neilpayne2002 into google I come top of the list because I am a member of the norton community, and now I do not want to be, what is the problem?

Are you seeing some problems from still being registered here? I see your 3 other posts were in 2011.

Can't Unsubscribe. What a bunch of crap. Look to get your Email Pounded with junk.

What email junk are you receiving? I have my email registered with Norton for my Norton Account and these forums. The only emails I receive are from the forum threads I have posted in. You can turn that setting off in your Forum profile settings, or your can  unsubscribe from an individual thread by clicking on the orange Options button at the top left of the forum thread you are subscribed to. Then click unsubscribe.

I have PM a forum moderator still no response. Norton are quick to take your money tho.

Huh....Why am I not surprised.

I was pretty much Forced to subscribe for another year as I found I had to go thought a Bunch of hoops just to Uninstall this stuff, so Good luck.

Best advice I have is to change your credit cards and email as for what I was doing, the support Sucked. I don't have time to read thought Hundreds of damn posts to solve a problem that should not be mine to start with.

Hell, I was even a Norton Dealer back in the 90's but this Aggressive Marketing crap does not go well with me. About to go Mac or Linux.

You cannot delete your account from the Community. You can just stop using it and it will become dormant.

If for some reason you really need to remove it, you should PM a forum moderator.
