How can I find out if software is cyber secure?

For the benefit of other users it took me a while to find that if you right click on a file in Explorer, then chose “Show more options” then “Norton Security” to get the “File insights” and “Run in sandbox” options.

I am wondering how I can find out if software that is not available in the Microsoft Playstore is secure. I am particularly interested in installing Intel AI Playground.
