Fellow Travelers-
I'm losing valuable work time due to frequent full system scans that run on my computer when I start my computer.
Is there a detailed log file that tracks the source initiator for a full "manual" scan somewhere that I can read?
Program Versions:
Program: 10.1.5.5000
Scan Engine: 81.3.0.13
Details:
Scheduled full scans were set by our SAV administrator to run once each week. **
But I'm seeing multiple full "manual" scans that run 1 or 2 extra times each week when I turn my computer on and logon and I can't account for their initiation. The extra scans started about 1 month ago. **
The SAV reported scan results have been consistently negative. I am seeing 2-3 dozen SAV file extraction error warnings reported to my computer's Applications event log. The file listed varies with each message. Here's a typical one:
Could not scan 11 files inside C:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\OFFICE1.CAB due to extraction errors encountered by the Decomposer Engines.
A Defwatch scan runs each morning when I turn on my computer and logon.
Can a Defwatch scan initiate a full system scan based on certain results?
Thanks,
MDGoff
** e.p.s. My SAV settings are locked by our SAV administrators. I contacted them about my loss of productive work time and part of the response was to change the frequency of my SAV scheduled adminstrator scans from once each week to once each day... Serves me right, eh! (smile)
