I have just upgraded to new version of FireFox 27.0.1 and suddenly I found out that the NIS smart Firewall blocks access to the web sitesI I have always used. On this laptop my operating system isWindows 8.1. I did the same thing on my other laptop running Windows 7 and there I have no problem. lease help me solve my problem. Disabling Smart Firewal is not an option.
Is it all sites you're having problems with or just some?
Hi,
May be there is a problem wid your browser. Did you try reinstalling it or try a different browser like IE or Chrome or Opera?
It can be also caused due to redirection to malicious sites. Do you type in the FULL URL of websites or lets your default searchprovider to help you?
Do you have any home pages or any toolbars set?
Post us your replies.
All sites.
Can you try resetting your firewall?
I have N360 so I'm not sure of the path in NIS. Maybe another NIS user will help you with that.
After updating to Firefox 27.0.1 for windows 8.1 I am not able to open any web pages. When I turn off the Smart Firewall of NIS it works fine. But then it defeats the purpose of having NIS. I must have a solution. This is very urgent
You have replies to your other post.
I do not have problem opening websites with Safari. Also I did not have problem with earlier versions of Firefox. I have Google set as home pages and I also have Norton tool bar.
Hi, rgmrchnt. If you can access sites via Safari, then I'd say it's more of a problem with Firefox being granted access.
If you reset the firewall to default in NIS, it will cancel out any changes or rules you may have made.
You can access it by going to Settings/Network/Smart Firewall, and click on Advanced settings.
However if you go to Program Rules/Configure, you could try setting Firefox to Allow rather than to Auto.
