I've installed NIS 2009 and am running WIN XP SP3 with IE7. I have the Norton Toolbar visible in the IE7 Menu Bar to the right of the normal File, Edit, View, etc. menus and I have a Links toolbar (containing only a Google link) further to the right. The toolbars are now locked.
As I believe that I am using a much more secure solution, I have no interest in using the Norton Identity Safe feature. However, I have to keep the Norton Toolbar visible in order to be able to see the circular green Site Safety Antiphishing icon.
How can I hide or remove the orange Identity Safe icon from the Norton Toolbar so that it is both less distracting and not a temptation for other users of my computer to set up a feature that I do not want to be set up?

Dieselman743,
I understand that the two features may work together. I'm not looking for a method to add/remove features, I'm just seeking a method to hide an icon that is of concern.

Something actually does what it is supposed to. OMG!
Actually, I just made a post telling someone how to check and fix associations in a totally roundabout way. I completely forgot that you can get to the official associations screen by Settings>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>File Types>File Types.
You want antiphishing, but you don't want Identity Safe, right? If I've figured out the question then the solution is:
Open NIS2009, uncheck Identity Safe, close IE and/or Firefox, reopen the browser, and -- voila! -- no more Identity Safe icon.
Great solution mijcar. It worked perfectly, using the red/green slider. I had previously clicked on the "Settings" in the NIS Identity section and there wasn't a choice there.
