How Can I Remove Identity Safe Icon From Norton Toolbar?

I've installed NIS 2009 and am running WIN XP SP3 with IE7.  I have the Norton Toolbar visible in the IE7 Menu Bar to the right of the normal File, Edit, View, etc. menus and I have a Links toolbar (containing only a Google link) further to the right.  The toolbars are now locked.

As I believe that I am using a much more secure solution, I have no interest in using the Norton Identity Safe feature.  However, I have to keep the Norton Toolbar visible in order to be able to see the circular green Site Safety Antiphishing icon.

How can I hide or remove the orange Identity Safe icon from the Norton Toolbar so that it is both less distracting and not a temptation for other users of my computer to set up a feature that I do not want to be set up?

Just create an IS profile for yourself, and others can't create one.

When the popup shows to log into it, click on the do not show this again, and you will have a secured toolbar.

There work together so no. There is no add\remove features in the toolbar.

I understand that the two features may work together.  I'm not looking for a method to add/remove features, I'm just seeking a method to hide an icon that is of concern.

PapauZ,

That's an interesting suggestion.  I'll probably try it after seeing if anyone else has a solution.

There is no option to hide the icon. I dont uderstand why you want to hide it. It doesnt both me and I actually never look at it.

Either I am missing the issue or this is ridiculous.

You want antiphishing, but you don't want Identity Safe, right?  If I've figured out the question then the solution is:

Open NIS2009, uncheck Identity Safe, close IE and/or Firefox, reopen the browser, and -- voila! -- no more Identity Safe icon.

OMG I never thought of that mijcar…It works

Something actually does what it is supposed to.  OMG!

Actually, I just made a post telling someone how to check and fix associations in a totally roundabout way.  I completely forgot that you can get to the official associations screen by Settings>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>File Types>File Types.

Quads pointed it out.  Like, duh!

Great solution mijcar.  It worked perfectly, using the red/green slider.  I had previously clicked on the "Settings" in the NIS Identity section and there wasn't a choice there.

Thank you.
