I need help restoring online backups to a replacement hard drive in my laptop. I can see the files on the online server and I select them to restore and it initializes then it shows to be receiving files and the restore progress moves less than 10% then stops. After a few minutes or sometimes an hour I get an error that says (some files could not restored at this time please try again later). When you close the error window it shows that none of the files were restored. I have tried for 3 days now all hours of the day and night. I have tried to restore the complete backup and also just a few small files. I tried to restore to original location and different locations but nothing works. I've had 3 different Norton support people in India take control of my computer and they can't get it to work either and they can't tell me why. I can even see the files online from my desktop computer but it gets the same error as the Laptop.
I've got the same problem. I junked my old computer that had the Norton 360 (defective hardware problem). My new computer has windows 7, which is not compatible with Norton 360. I'm trying to figure out how to retrieve my old files that were saved in Norton 360 online storage. I hope someone has the solution. Good luck.
Its working now!!! I don't know what happened and nothing has changed on my end. I didn't do anything different than before but out of frustration I tried restoring the files again last night before I went to bed. When I got up this morning it had restored the files I asked for. Maybe someone did something on the Server end. I also restored some other files today.
I guess I'll take back all the bad thoughts I was having toward Norton 360
So your Norton 360 on your new computer was able to retreive the online storage data from the old computer? Was it the same Norton 360 on both computers or did you have a newer Norton 360 with a different code?
I'm trying to decide if I should purchase the Norton 360 version 5 for my new computer (windows 7 compatible) to see if I can retieve my data.
I backed up the files from the old hard drive with Windows Vista using Norton 360 Premier version 4.3.0.5
I restored them to the new hard drive with Windows Vista using Norton 360 Premier version 5.0 but I renewed my subscription online so it had the same key as the older version. If it doesn't have the same key I don't know if would work.
However the problem I was having restoring the files wasn't because of the different versions because I have another computer with 4.0 and the same key and I couldn't restore them to a folder on it either.
