I have a laptop running Vista Home Basic and I use a limited user account. I also have NIS 2014 v 21.7.0.11
I was on my lap top and it looks like I may have turned off my NIS. I clicked on the service tray icon an I think I closed it off. Anyway There was no NIS icon in the system tray. I even checked to see if it was hidden. And changed that status to always show. However it still did not show up in the system tray. So in a panic I just restarted the laptop. After logging in it was showing back in the system tray.
But that got me to thinking. How do I know that NIS is on and running?
I assume if it shows a green check mark on the NIS icon in the system tray that it means its on running and ok?
I also checked my task manager from Windows. Again I am on a limited user account so its not showing all the running process . But in task manager I saw an instance if nis.exe But shouldn’t there be an instance of ccSvcHst.exe running?
