I am a longtime heavy user of Cygwin and its command window "mintty.exe". The latest update to this file triggers NIS. The alleged threat is given as Trojan.Gen.SMH.

Can you check out if this is a false positive? There must be about a million users of this program world wide, although it may take time before everyone attempts the latest update.
In the mean time, how can I tell NIS to leave it alone?
Second, I was in a hurry, and I could not find out how to disable NIS temporarily. (Why must that be so difficult?) I therefore resorted to uninstalling the whole thing. Now, how can I find out what exactly I had, in order to reinstall it?
