How did I get 376 days added to NIS 2012?

Last time I checked, I only had like a week left before my subscription ran out. I didn't renew anything. The only thing I did was installing NIS 2012 on a laptop, with the current product key I had on a different PC. Is there something I'm not seeing here?

Hello Slick,

Does this added time show on both machines?  Do you have auto renewal set up for your account?

I would do this:

  1. Check your Norton account online to see what is indicated there.
  2. Thoroughly check the computer system clock including Time, Time Zone, Date and Year. Synchronize with your time server
  3. Restart the machine.
  4. Open the main NIS UI and and go to Support > Subscription status.  That will synchronize your product with the Symantec servers.

If none of these actions resolve the issue, you can contact Customer Support via Live Chat at  this link.

They are very good at dealing with account, subscription and activation issues.

My other PC is currently being repaired, so I don't know if it shows the same status on that one.

I don't see automatic renewal any where on my account, how do I find it?

I checked my norton account, it just shows a order history from 6 years ago, but it's not the same subscription I'm on.

I've done the rest of the steps you gave me, but the only thing that's changed is that it's 375 days now instead of 376.

I'll try my luck with the chat support, thanks.

Hi Slick,

In your Norton account you will be having a separate tab for Automatic Renewal. So if  you dont see the tab then automatic renewal was disabled. Please contact the support so we can do the needful.
