Issue abstract:
Load Norton 360 Home page. Run Smart Scan. It completes but finds a bunch of trackers. I am asked if I want to buy yet another product to fix it. I choose later. I get a new popup that tells me I can get the service for free for a limited time. I have two choices, Click the X in the top right corner and Norton 360 closes, or accept and I am given the opportunity to type in my credit care to buy the service when the free trial ends. This is getting kind of sonorous.
Detailed description:
Product & version number:26.3.10886 (build 26.3.10886.979)
OS details:Windows 11

You can manage advertising notifications from Norton by adjusting settings within your Norton device security application, opting out of marketing emails, or blocking browser notifications. These methods allow you to control promotional alerts, non-critical app activity alerts, and unwanted browser pop-ups. Note that some essential service communications cannot be disabled.
Manage In-App Promotional Notifications
You can stop receiving promotional notifications directly within your Norton device security application. This involves navigating to the Notifications settings and toggling off the option for promotional alerts. This will prevent offers for other Norton products and services from appearing in your app.
Opt-Out of Marketing Emails
To stop receiving marketing emails from Norton, you have two primary options. You can sign in to your Norton account on our website, go to Account Settings, and adjust your Email Preferences to turn off promotions and special offers. Alternatively, you can click the “Unsubscribe” link found at the bottom of any marketing email you receive from Norton.
Block Browser-Based Advertising Notifications
If you are receiving unwanted advertising notifications through your web browser, you can block them directly in your browser settings. The steps vary depending on whether you use Safari, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox, but generally involve accessing notification settings and denying or removing specific websites from sending push notifications.
I appreciate your answers, but the problem is really with Norton Marketing! They should fix it.
Sure, I want to receive notices of new products, but I promise you I will not buy everything. I would even put up with once every time I start up Norton 360. But if every time I run a scan I have to log out of Norton and restart it just to get out of the buy cycle is obnoxious. Good products should stand on their own merits. Is Norton spending too much money of onerous marketing and too little on good engineering?
