Hi all. I posted last week about how the new version 6.0 user interface makes the product harder and more cumbersome to work with, Well, after trying to use it almost daily for about 2 weeks I just give up. I can't take it anymore. I'd like to remove version 6 and go back to 5. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is there a downloadable version someplace on one of Symantec's sites? I've been a licensed user since version 3 so I won't have a problem in that respect. I can't seem to locate my version 5 install file. Also, I'm assuming that downgrading won't impair the ability of the prodcut to protect against threats. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Just be aware, if you use Identity Safe, that the data format used in v6 is not backwards compatible with v5. To restore your information saved in Identity Safe, you will need a .NPM backup that you previously created in v5.
In NIS 2012 19.7.0.9, when you initiate an Identity Safe Import Data, you are given the option to look for the older .NPM files. Can you verify this for N360?

You can restore from .NPM backups in all versions of Norton 360. But N360v6 cannot save a backup as an .NPM file. The new backup format is .DAT, and earlier versions of N360 cannot import or restore using that format. Therefore, if one downgrades to v5, one cannot restore the contents of Identity Safe from an exported file created in v6. Instead, one would need to use a previously saved .NPM file created with an earlier installation of v5. .NPM is forward compatible to v6, but .DAT is not backwards compatible to v5.
