How do I get my application listed?

I am the author of a book in a specialised field. I offer a downloadable bonus pack to buyers who register their book online.

The bonus pack is distributed as an executable file created by the Inno Setup Compiler. The installation process creates a directory under "Program Files" into which it places a PDF document, plus a couple more directories with WORD and EXCEL template files in them. It creates a program group with shortcuts to the PDF, the WORD & EXCEL files directory, our web site, and the uninstall utility.

My customers who try to install their bonus with Norton AntiVirus installed are having the installer disabled by Norton. The complaint from NAV (this is paraphrased, since I haven't seen the message personally) is that my installer program is a potential threat because the executable is unknown in the Norton community.

Since it's a rather specialised book, and the application is only availble to book purchasers, I assume it will continue to be unknown to the Norton community.

What can I do to avoid this? Can I give instructions to my customers? Can I send a copy of the EXE to Norton and have it certified somehow?

Please help – this is causing a significant headache for something that should be simple.
