I ran Software Updater and got a list of programs that the Updater could not update. I updated them so how do I get rid of the list? All but one of the listed programs are from Microsoft or Windows. Is Norton prejudiced toward Microsoft/Windows products?
Permalink, believe me I thought the same and am beginning to think I had someone who did not know what he was doing. He left me for ages just sitting here looking at the screen and nothing happening. At 76 I was nearly in tears to think my laptop would never be the same again. I did do a review which Norton sent me explaining my concerns but heard nothing back, so much for Customer Service.
So the only way to get rid of this seems to be uninstall and then reinstall? That wouldn't take 2.5 hours would it?
A reinstall using the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool should take less than 10 minutes, depending on how quickly your computer boots up.
Download the tool here www.norton.com/nrnr and use the Advanced Options > Remove Only option. Then restart your computer and log into your Norton Account and click on Download to download and install a fresh copy of your 360. Be sure you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available? Then restart again. Restarting, not shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

I managed to get Norton to take it off. It caused more bother than it is worth. Took an engineer 2 1/2 hrs to uninstall and reinstall Norton. Thankfully I am now back as I was and if that Software Update appears I will never click on it ever again.
You have my sympathy and if you have hours to waste, which most of us do not, get onto Norton and get them to sort it out,.
Stay safe.
