How do I reactivate a deactivated license

I'm getting a new computer and I have my 3 installs of Norton 360. I cannot remove my license from my main computer because I need it during the transition to my new computer, so I will temporarily be removing the license from my laptop and use it for my new computer. Once the transition is done, I will remove the license from my old desktop and I will want to re-license my laptop which, of course, still will have Norton 360 installed on it. What will I need to do to reactivate the license on the laptop at that point?

Hi again,

First question - do you have Norton Managment installed on the concerned systems?  If you do, you can use that to remove the license from the laptop (which will free up an install - for your new desktop).  If you have it installed - we can wlk you thru it if you need assistance.

If you do not have Norton Mangement installed, you can contact Live chat, explain the situation to them and they should be able to free up an activation.

To obtain N 360 for your Win 8 system without putting it on line:

You can go to one of the links below to download  the latest version of N 360 (which is Win 8 compatible).  Select the version of N 360 you have standard  or premiere.  Save this download to one of your exsisting systems or a USB Drive.

N360 Standard - www.norton.com/n360s_20

N360 Premier - www.norton.com/n360p_20

When you are ready to install on your Win 8 system, use the saved copy to accomplish the install.  Be sure to check you Norton Account on one of the N 360 installed system for the product key - you will need this to activate the install.

Once you have the new install on the Win 8 system and have it activated, go thru the same procedure you used to remove the license from the laptop on your old desktop thus freeing up another install.  At this point you can go to your Norton Account on the laptop and lcick on the yellow download button and it will download, install and activate a copy of the N 360 version 20.2.0.19 - the latest version.

Now if you are still with me after all of that, an easier method for your Win 8 install, would be to go online on the Win 8 system, to www.nortonaccount.com, login, click on the yellow download button and it will download , install and activate the most current version of N 360 for you.

I understand not wanting to go online with the new system unprotected - but I thought I'd give yuo the option.

Also whenever you install a Norton Product, run LiveUpdate (rebooting when requested) until such time as it specifically responds "no updates found".

Any questions - please ask before you get started.

Thank you for the links... I just downloaded the Premier version one (that is what I have now) and will use it to install Norton 360 on my new computer.

About deactivating my laptop computer... I have the manager program installed on my soon-to-be-old desktop and it looks like I can remove the license from the laptop from it (I think the manager is talking to Norton's website, not my hard disk). Obviously I'll install it in my Windows 8 computer once I put it online... do you think I would be able to reactivate the laptop using it from my new computer or are you saying the reactivation must come from the manager program run from inside the deactivated (laptop) computer?

I just want you to know I really appreciate your all of your help!

Yes, you can do that - via the Trash Can for your Laptop.

If you are going to use your Norton Account to Install N 360 on your laptop, you must be logged into your Norton Account on your laptop so you can click the yellow download button for the install on that system.

You are quite welcome!
