The ghost version is 11.0.

i used the boot disc to restore it from the ghost file. the computer has 2 hdd's in it both 80gb the ghost image is 55,875mb. One hdd is called Ghost and only had the ghost image on it. The other is blank and unpartitioned. When i restore it from image to disk, it gets to 99%( 211mb remaining )

The Error message is:

Application Error 19235

Ghost has detected corruption in the image file. Please perform an integrity check on the image.

If this problem presists, contact symantec technical support

The hdd i was restoring it to remains unchanged.

When i try to open it in ghost explorer it wants me to tell it where the "ghost image extensions .ghs .0" are but there where not created. When i click cancel on the browser window that came up i get the error message "Corruption in image file, or media not present. Not all files are shown." when i click ok, no files are shown. Im using ghost explorer 11.0.0.1502.

also when i made the image i used fast compression, i have herd that it might have cause some problems.

Thank you for the information.  Unfortunately from the information provided I can see we need to redirect to you to the right forum.  You have Ghost Solution Suite which is a completely different product and backup approach than Norton Ghost.  Norton Ghost is based off the Backup Exec System Recovery technology rather than the Ghost Solution Suite technology.  The forum that you need to post this issue is https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board?board.id=109.

I'm sorry that I could not help you further.

Thanks for all your help.

I have used Norton Ghost to back up all data on one of my disk's. I used fast compression and it seemed like the process worked correctly. But when i tried to recover it to disk it got to 99% and gave me an error saying that the file is corrupted. I have also tried using Ghost Explorer but it needs some other file that i dont have. When i created the Ghost image it only created 1 file.

Is there any way i could recover some of the data from the file? Please help this is really urgent.

Thank you.

If the image is truly corrupt, you are out of luck.  However, sometimes there is a possibility of getting some data depending on what has happened.  There are no guarantees, but we can at least look at little further into this.  First, some questions:

 - What version are you using?

 - What is the exact text of the error?

 - Does the application log in the event viewer give any additional errors? If so, what are they?

 - Do you have more than one backup? If so, do the others do the same thing?

 - If you use the Recovery Point Browser (Start | Programs | Norton Ghost | Recovery Point Browser) and have it verify the backup, what does it say?
