How do I remove a threat called Boot.Malmo from my computer

I have installed Norton Antivirus 2011 on several computers, and they all show unresolved very high risks called Boot.Malmo. I have tried the Norton Power Erasor, but hasnt worked on any of them.  How do I remove it?  It is infecting every memory stick used, and as a result, all computers are affected!

I would recommend a visit to one of the free malware removal forums.  Boot infections are problematic because of OEM MBR's in a lot of machines, laptops in particular.

Hopefully you have created a Norton Bootable Recovery CD.

Instructions for removal here under the "Removal" tab: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2000-122009-5001-99

Norton cannot repair or cure the MBR like with TDL4, Whistler and Mebroot family.

Thanks for the reply, I will try and create the recovery cds and try to resolve the problem.

Thanks

Hi

as suggested by other members of this community you need to register in any one of those forums to get rid of the threat.

Please do regsiter their

You don`t even know if that the only threat you are infected with their may be other threat not being picked up by the scanner.

Register in any of the forums and lets them clean up the threat any other ones hiding as well!

I have tried what I was told to do but the threat is still there!

Did you read any of the other recommendations and posts on your thread.  Quads advised early on that it would not work.  Please register at one of the forums from the links provided to get assistance.

Thanks.  I have registered with those forums and one of them has given me new instructions so am trying that now.

Thanks for your help
