So how do I scan e-mails then? Does it do it automatically? In the options for Antispam I only see options for scanning outlook and outlook express which I don’t use.
Correct. It only can anti spam those. What you can do is redirecting your hotmail to Outlook so Norton can scan the incoming and outgoing mail for malware but it still can’t spam them
Is it possible to use Norton Antispam included in NIS 2008 add-on pack to scan incoming e-mails in hotmail. My Antispam is turned on but it doesn’t ever seem to block anything, except that which live mail blocks itself. Can Antispam do this as well?
Will the 2009 version be any different? The Outlook program on my computer doesn’t work! I can’t get it set up!
For all I know not.
But if you want to use hotmail than you can always use the antispam from them. Works pretty well. Or you could try gmail that has een even better spam filter.
Why doesn't your outlook work? What version are you trying?
I’m using outlook 2007, but I don’t know what the Microsoft Exchange server is and I always get asked for that. When I click cancel outlook shuts down. What do I do to fix this?
Are you connected to a network or something?
Not that I’m aware. Of course I know nothing about networking, so I probably wouldn’t know!
McStick,
Are you using Hotmail as web based email or are you downloading it via POP3 to your local machine and using an email reader? I'm guessing that you are using it strictly through your web browser as web-based email.
And if that’s the case that’s the main reason why Norton can’t spam your mails
Yea that would be right. So I can’t use NIS Antispam to scan e-mails then? I just wondered what it was actually there for but now I see! I would need to download them through Outlook for it to work?

That's correct. They'd need to be downloaded to your system for Norton AntiSpam to process them. Thanks!
That’s correct. It needs a pop3 mail account
