I can't seem to stop a full scan from checking all of my network drives and I can't figure out how to delete the scheduled scan. I only want to do local drives.
I know I can set it up to only scan local drives but I can't figure out how to delete the scheduled full scans. In "select an item to launch a scan" I see the scheduled full scan but I can't get rid of it.
HELP.
Thanks for the quick response!
Although I can get to that exact place, there is no option to delete the scan. It only gives me options on the schedule.

Hi -
In the upper right hand corner of Schedule, there should be a Delete button - that is if an entry is listed.
If you Delete the Scheduled Scan, it will not run, IMHO.
Let me know.
Thanks.

I have the option to delete a custom scan but not the full scan. . .
Hmm...
I wonder if I am missing something here.
Do you have a Full System Scan scheduled right now?

Yes, there is one scheduled. I just can’t unschedule it.
Hi -
Strange indeed.
Try this - create a new Full System Scan, then apply changes.
Then go back in and see if you can delete both, as above.
Let me know.
Thanks.

No change. If I did this right, there should be a screen shot showing the scheduled scan.
If you go to “Scan exclusions” you should be able to add the drives there that you do not want scanned. See if that works.
How do I stop NIS from scanning all of my network drives during full scan?
Hi Soundchasr,
If this is what you want to do, then simply add the mapped network drive to the exclusion list for Manual Scan and AutoProtect scan. If you want to completely exclude a file/folder, then you have to add that file under the exclusion list for both Auto-Protect and Manual Scan. You can follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Start Norton 2009 program.
2. In the Computer pane, click Settings.
3. Under Exclusion/Low Risks, click Configure next to Scan Exclusions.
4. Under Scan Exclusions, click Add.
5. Browse and select the network drive you would like to exclude and click OK. If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders. In the wrning message, click Yes.
6. Under Auto-Protect Exclusions, click Add.
7. Browse and select the network drive you would like to exclude and click OK. If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders. In the wrning message, click Yes.
8. Click Apply > OK.

Hi -
We need to delete that unwanted Scan - you should be able to delete it.
I would think!
Ok, that's one way to do it. LOL.
I excluded them all. Thanks!
Hi Yogesh,
Thanks for answering the other part of the problem!
Why do you think that he cannot delete the Scheduled Scan, though?
