Norton continuously uses my system resources to run background activity to sell me more products, which I keep telling it not to notify me about. On certain screens, there is no option that says "Do not show again" or "Never show again". On those where I have clicked not to show me ever again, I keep getting the same notifications again and again. I have subscribed to a product based on my needs and paid for the software. Where are the settings to stop these ads from Norton? If Norton 360 was a Free product, the spam ads are still justified. Some snapshots added, but there are more irrelevant pop-ups for system tune-up, ad-tracker blocking (which should block Norton itself?), password-manager, online backup service, etc. etc. How do I permanently turn these off? Posting here after months of frustrating pop-ups. Thanks.
I've clicked "Don't ask me again" sooooo many times, yet after every update to Norton the prompts / ads come back again, both with Edge and Firefox.
Thankfully Norton doesn't appear to support Brave browser so I am spared there at least.
How may users turn off browser Protection Alert?
Users may submit feedback/concerns thru Norton Feedback &or Product Suggestions
Thanks mate.
If this isn’t the right forum to bring this to the product management’s attention, should we try Twitter or other social media such as Meta/TikTok where users are more active?
No one should go through the hassle of creating 1990s forum accounts in 2021 to raise or follow up on an issue.
I have a renewal coming in December, and thinking of looking elsewhere. This isn’t the Norton it used to be!
These spam ads are hideously called “Special Offers”. There is nothing special about them. Norton should clearly tag them as Advertisements and either should be disabled by default, or users should get a clear prompt to disable them during a typical product installation. Otherwise, Norton is essentially an Adware. With the resources it’s consuming on my machine, it could very well be mining!
Not honouring the user selection of “Don’t ask me again” is simply unacceptable!
I'm trying to call attention.
Users want a way to turn browser Protection Alerts Off
I am getting these again and again for Edge, Firefox and Chrome, even after clicking the button that explicitly says “Don’t ask me again”. Also, in-browser pop-ups to install Norton add-ins I don’t want.
Special offers option is turned off.
Special Offer Notifications = Off
How may I turn off browser Protection Alert?
Special Offer Notifications = Off
I am getting these, too, even after Special Offers are turned off. Also, Edge would open by itself while I am using another application such as Excel, showing a tab asking to install Norton add-ins and extensions such as password manager, safe web, etc.
Special Offer Notifications = Off
Note: installs in Legacy Edge
Thanks Gayathri,
I have just done this, although the setting was hidden under the Classic View settings menu.
I'll monitor the product behaviour this week.
Kind regards
Hi,
Could you please Turn Off Special Offer Notifications, and check?
Thanks,
Gayathri
