Hi all. I'm sure this will be very easy for you experts to answer, but as a bit of a techological idiot, I'm a bit confused over this.
I recently purchased a laptop for my son, which is running Windows 7 and came with a trial version of NIS 2010. It now has seven days of the trial period remaining. I have my own Norton account as I've subscribed to NIS for some years on my own PC. I don't really want to start entering my credit card details on his laptop, but I notice that if I log on to my account and click on the NIS product I purchased, it gives me the opportunity to purchase a Norton Antivirus key for around $39. Will this be sufficient to activate the Norton Internet Security product on his laptop? Also, when I look at the specification of the product key I'm being offered, it says 'for use with WindowsXP/Vista', but his laptop is running Windows 7. Would this work, or do I need to buy something different?
There seems to be a discrepancy between the $39 I'm being asked for this product key and the £45 (approx. $60) when using the norton activation link on his laptop, so I'm hopelessly confused here. I will be grateful for replies, as I don't want to buy the wrong thing. Thanks.
