How do I turn off Community Watch on MacBook Pro?

I want to turn off Norton Community Watch on my Macbook Pro.

How do I do it?

Thanks

I have installed Norton Security on hundreds of computers. Upon installation there is a small check box on the bottom about participation in the community. It is "opt in" by default which means if you just use the normal installer community watch will be on.

Maybe, it's bit off-topic, but... neither NS-ESD-Def-22.8.0.50-EN nor NS-ESD-Def-22.8.1.14-EN asked me to participate (enable) that option.

Ask:

  • say something in order to obtain an answer or some information.
  • request (someone) to do or give something.

I did NOT check that off (manually) upon installation.

Added #2: By default, that option is just PRE-ENABLED.

Sorry, but I insist that "By default, that Norton Community Watch (in Windows) is OFF. Or, it's just me (VM). (My bad..., I just did not notice I unselect that option.)

Then, @Rainbow_2, you may run Norton Removal Tool and reinstall yr Norton product later.

BTW, that KB works for Windows:

Added #1:

Then, where can I or OP find/disable said setting in his/her Norton (NAV/NIS/NS) for MacBook Pro? Product Settings? Or... Wrong board? Improve that KB? Just saying...

Thx :)

p.s.: wow... 30 trial days remaining...

Community Watch for Norton users is on by default. It's been awhile but I believe community Watch is something you check off upon installation. The installer asks you if you want to participate. Not sure about Macs

By default, Norton Community Watch is on...

@mrmichael payne,

By default, that setting is OFF. Just saying...cool

And for related info, you may read this KB.

You may turn on Settings Password Protection if you did not make that change to your Norton intentionally.

Thx :)

Mac's do not need any antivirus.

I have asked for your post be moved to the Mac board for better exposure.

This is how to turn off Norton Community Watch in Windows - does it help?

Norton main window > Settings > Administrative Settings | Norton Community Watch row, move the On/Off switch to Off. Click Apply, and then click Close.
