Ok - So I have just wasted almost an hour of my life I won’t get back.
I had purchased a 3 Device Pre-Paid subscription and logged into my account to download and activate one of the licences. In the past you could just type “nortondotcombackslashsetup” (have to type it like this or Norton will substitute the new link instead) and away you’d go, install and then type in your key. You now get to have to log in to an account on that page.
No problem I thought - there will be a “Download” button in “My Account”. Nope -so then I thought I’d just contact Support and they will give me the latest link to accomplish what I needed to do or could even set up the 3 device subscription for me. So round in circles I went until finally I managed to get to talk to a Norton Human Support Rep. I gave him the key, he gave me instructions to get the download link and he stated after installing I could then insert my key. So whilst he was online I followed the steps he had given me. All fine until I got to an ongoing subscription page looking for my credit card details with seemingly no way to skip past.
In other words you now appear to need agree to an ongoing subscription which I refuse to do. I told the Support Rep this and he then told me the only other way to get my product activated would for him to take remote control of my PC. Of course that was not an option for me.
So does anyone know if the above is correct - ie - if you want to activate a pre-paid subscription you can only do so if you agree to an ongoing one ?
