Issue abstract: Cloud Backup

Detailed description: I recently did a fresh install of Windows 11 on my C drive. All my data files are on an internal D drive which was not affected. How can I get Norton Cloud Backup to link to my existing backup? Norton is on the C drive.

Product & version number: Norton 360

OS details: Windows 11 [up-to-date]

What is the error message you are seeing? None

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

fwiw ~ my spare machine has internal C: boot drive & internal D: data drive.
Norton 360 - Cloud Backup recognizes my internal D: drive
Norton 360 - Cloud Backup → Local Backup recognizes my internal D: drive.

Maybe, I’m not understanding?

You cannot link to a backup of an older Windows installation. When you reinstall the OS and then reinstall Norton 360, you have to re create a new backup set. You can Restore from the older backup if necessary.

It’s all the same machine, a C: Drive and a D: Drive - two separate drives in the same PC. I did a clean install of Windows on my C: Drive - the D: Drive -which has all the stuff I backup to the Norton Cloud- remains unchanged. When I go to my Cloud, I see the files are there, I simply want to point my PC to that backup. It’s the same PC - same name and all. It seems like there should be a way to do that. It would simplify things considerably. So, I do not need a restore, just trying not to have to back up the same stuff that’s already there [if there is a way].

Since, you re-installed Norton 360. You’ll need to re-create your backup set…for C: &or for D:

Well, not very user-friendly. That’s for sure. Thanks for the info.
