How do you tell the version year installed?

Hi All,

If I click on Support/About then it tells me I have version  x.x.x.x and a load of other numbers -anything but the actual product year (which might have been kinda helpful!). "

"New version check" tells me a new version is available (although not which year) - and it might be one I don't want yet (from reading forum entries about NIS 201x)? Also how can I tell whether it has already updated itself to a different product year from the one I originally bought?

Why is it so difficult to tell and is there a page which lists version numbers against product years? Anyone know where?

Thanks!

Swordbyte

PS my actual version number is 19.8.0.14 --- still 2012 I think!

Since Norton 2007, the year of the current version has been removed from the program's main screen. All you have to do is to follow the version number. Also, the download manager should display the year when you download a new version from Norton Update Center. Currently:

version 20.x.x.x = 2013

              19.x.x.x = 2012

              18.x.x.x = 2011

It's not that hard to remember :)

OK thanks for that - definitely answers my question.

However, personally, I would suggest Norton add back the version year to the info displayed, especially since it appears to be a major factor in the product identity for marketing in the first place!
