How does Ghost keep track of how many backups of each job their are?

Hi All,

Does anyone know off-hand how Ghost keeps track of when it's time to start deleting files (IE: because the backup job has a limit of 3 backups and it's reached 3).  Does it simply read the filenames in the destination and make a decision, does it come from the job history in 'Manage backup destinations', etc?  I suppose it would be easy enough to test this by manually maniupulating either the job history or changing a file name within the destination.

I ask because of this thread http://community.norton.com/t5/Other-Norton-Products/Ghost-doesn-t-see-a-Recovery-Point/td-p/190158/page/2 and how they say that the history can sometimes get out of sync but it doesn't matter as the backup files are still intact and once they become stale it will get refreshed anyway.

Thanks!
