I am currently using a 5 device version of Norton Security and have a local vault in each workstation. All 5 workstations use the same Norton registration key. I am considering moving to the On-Line Identity Safe feature, and don't have a clear understanding how it works for multiple users.
There are 5 different individuals each with personal computers. Does each person have their own unique vault for password storage, or are each individuals private passwords stuffed together in a single online vault for all users to access ? .
I have been using the local vault for many years, but when recovering a damaged workstation I must first install the last version of Norton Internet Security that contained the local vault, then restore the local vault contents, and then update to the latest version of Norton Security. In that its very cumbersome to manage and backup 5 unique users workstations, I am considering moving to the online vault. But if every user has access to each others passwords, it creates an unacceptable security situation.
I am considering upgrading to the Norton Security Premium 10 device package - so that I can use the cloud storage feature. Is the Cloud storage space separate and unique for each workstation, or are all 5 of my workstations backed up to a common Cloud storage space ? If all the 5 individual users workstations back up data are stuffed into the same Cloud space, it also creates an unacceptable security situation.
I have read somewhere that in order for each user to have a unique password vault, they must individually register with Norton. Please explain how this works. I currently have one account with Norton, and under that account have a 5 device Norton Security registered. If the individual users must register with Norton in order to have unique individual online vaults, do these users have access to the registration key ? And using the same thought process, if each workstation user had individual accounts for individual password vaults, does that also provide for individual Cloud backup storage locations ??
Perhaps to ask in a different way, does access to Norton Security's Cloud storage and Identity Safe's online password vault work like a Google Account works. When I log in to my Google account I have access to Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, and other tools under that single account. Does a single users log in to his Norton account give access to both the Cloud storage space and the online password vault ?
Of course I can test each of these scenarios to determine the answers to my questions, but time is not something I have a lot of, and I'm quite sure someone has else has already traveled this maze. Your help is very much appreciated.
Thank You.
