Could anyone please tell me how does the PIN code unlock work? My child is now away to stay with relatives for the summer holiday. I set up time restrictions for an android phone so she can use it for couple of hours every day.
I also left the PIN code with the family just in case they would like to extend the play time, or the child would like to talk to the parents.
Does the phone need to be locked manually after the PIN number has been entered, or is there some time period after which it will return to the normal mode?
Thank you.
Hi DadJokes,
Norton Family PIN is different from the child's device PIN. We recommend Parents to add their phone numbers as emergency contacts before configuring time rules or locking the device instantly (Instant Lock feature). So the child can call the parents to get the PIN to unlock time curfew. We also recommend parents to update the PIN once it has been used.
Norton Family PIN can be entered in the Norton Family block screen during curfew hours. Once the PIN is entered the device will be unlocked for the rest of the day unless there is any change in Time rules or device is locked instantly (Instant Lock feature) by the parent. Once the PIN is entered, you could see this message "Device unlocked. You can use this device for the rest of the day." and the apps will be accessible immediately for the child to use.
Hope this helps. Please let us know incase you have further queries.
Thanks,
Norton Family Team
