It shouldn't take that long, mine only takes a few minutes....

What version do you have installed?

v1 or v2

I've never had that sort of time needed but I do see that Norton 360 on VISTA SP1 takes much much longer to update than NIS2008 on XP SP3 -- dual boot on same hardware -- and I have wondered why? <s>

It seems to take much longer to log onto the server and then during the Downloading Updates.

I have v2,0 running on XP and i ran it today and its taking a real long time,it just says downloading updates and its taking forever

Is there a way to manually download the updates?

Hello Bloodyleaves,

did you try to reboot your pc? If this will not fix your problem try : Start-->Run--> type "luall" without ".

Whats about your internet connection? Try a speedtest at http://www.speedtest.net

If the problem persist:

I would contact Symantec's Customer Support team to help troubleshoot the issue:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/selectproduct_ts.jsp

Without access to your system, it's a bit difficult to figure out a solution to the problem. With their help, you should be able to get this issue resolved. Thanks!

Let us know....
